WHEN he opened the new Treatment Centre at the end of 2005, His Royal Highness Prince Andrew was keen to meet League of Friends members during his time at the hospital. The Duke of York is the Patron of the National Association of League of Friends, having taken over from the late Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

2014 update: While still a member of the League of Friends, Peter Andrews has been succeeded as Chairman by Janet Farrell.

The League no longer has a stall in the Out Patients Department. (See the Index page).

The Duke of York talks to members of the Trust's staff, Doris Jennings (founder member of the League of Friends), immediately to the left of the Duke, and Faye Bennett and Miriam Andrews (both Committee Members and Trustees of the League of Friends) immediately to her left.
